GIU Blog Hop

Good Morning Creative Friends and Happy Sunday!
Welcome to Growing In Unity Blog Hop.

I'm so honored to be apart of this hop with a great group of creative ladies. Today were featuring this oh so cute stamp by Phyllis Harris for Unity Stamp Company. Today I'm using "Miracles Happen..." and I would have to say this arrived in my life at the perfect moment. If you follow me you know I'm going through some tough times. So this one really touch my heart. I have two cards for you all.

My first card I really wanted to focus on the image. I created my card base using  My Creative Time "Surprise Pop-Out Card" die.  I love the stitching and I really wanted to make the image my focus. So I thought this card base would be perfect. I distress the base starting distress inks tumbled glass and for the bottom salty ocean.  For the sentiment I thought it would be great as a shaker. I colored my girl in using Copics: dress: R14,  R17, Y13, Y18, hair: E23, E25, E29,  and skin: E31, and E33.  The sequins is nail art for the dollar tree. I seen it and thought this look like sequins. I know I know your amazed at what we can find and what we can think of as crafters.

For my next card I really wanted to focus on the sweet ribbon and sentiment. I just love this ribbon and knew right away I wanted to create a background. I stamped the ribbon all over and colored with copics "RV52 and RV55. To get the shaker panel I used the same die by MCT on the first card only using the center portion to create a shake. I used Pretty Pink Posh "Pink Peonies" sequins. I love the way this one turned out.

I love them both. The first one will be a neat surprise when the recipient opens it to find a shaker, and the image is inspiring. I love all the pinks and the sentiment on the second one.

Both cards are just lovely but I really like the ribbon and sentiment. My husband died from brain cancer and I am always on the lookout for ribbon and appropriate sentiments for brain tumor awareness cards.

Totally Lovin the coloring on that first card. If the second card is any indicator of the struggles you are going through, big hugs. My mom and sister are both survivors, praise the Lord!
