HIMCR-60 Share A Challenge

Happy Saturday
This is a long post!

How are you all doing? I know a lot of parents are happy the kids have started school. I have to say I wish I could have seen my baby girl start 4th grade. She is with my parents right now. But no worries I will be in MS hopefully next month. So I can join all the other happy parents.

This week at Hiding In My Craft Room we were asked to find a challenge from another blog. When I thought of this challenge I know I wanted to do a layout. A back to school layout. Would you believe that since I started to scrapbook I only done two layout of my Terrion. I know it seems like time is moving so fast and me so slow on the layouts for me.

So for the challenge I found a challenge over at Rochelle Spears Blog. The August challenge is Layered Embellishments and to use at least 3 items from the list. I used Twine (around photo) Metal Breads and Sticker ( Stickers on my handmade starts) and for a extra chance to win use this sketch by Page Drafts.

For my layout I used pattern with a solid color on the reversed side. One side stars and the color orange. The paper is from American Crafts: Junior Boom! When I first saw this paper I just know I wanted to use it for Terrion's "Star Of The Week" project.  She was the star and she created this poster to show things she like and family. Can you believe this was First Grade. Mrs. Martins class. I should do some journaling.  I'm not so good at that. Maybe I'll just write it on the back. I used Core'dinations blue cardstock for the base of my layout and yellow from Recollections. I embossed each of the orange and yellow with my Star embossing fold. I cut the stars out from Cricut: Art Philosophy and the title from: Cricut: Cherry Limeade. Each of the banners were hand cut. I didn't want to take to much time cutting them and wasting paper using Cricut. I add some brads and I use some yellow twine around the photo. I also found some stickers in my stash and add the sticker stars. The stickers were from EK Success: Circus. I'm so happy I was able to get done.

I love the embossing and the way this worked out.

Close up of my layered embellishment I made.
