Growing In Unity Day Four

Welcome To Day Four of Growing In Unity.

Today I have something different for you all. I've never tried mixed media art on a burlap canvas. I had been wanting to try stamping on burlap. I started out by stamping the large hearts from Unity Stamp Co. Everything Love {January 2014 sentiment kit} using StazOn solvent ink. This ink will stay bold and will not smear if used with water or any medium. I used some modeling paste to give my hearts on the lower bottom a little texture. I really love that I have some texture and that the burlap can still show up. I started coloring in my heats using Faber-Castell  Red Cherry and Gold Champagne Gelatos. Can I just say I love gelatos. these went on with a rustic look but with a little water it was easy to spread. I went around the edge of my canvas using the gold. I thought a little sparkle would help. For my sentiment and wooden hearts I used the same color gelatos using water to left up the colors till I got the textured I need on the heats and sentiment. I really love how the sentiment have a wood grain look. I stubble upon this look by first take the gelato to the edge of my card. I spread the red and went back and add the gold on top since it has more of a clear layer.  I later went in with a LePen permanent pen which is an alcohol-based ink to trace my hearts.  I love how this turned out!!
